Mark D. Bunner, 78, of Frankfort and formerly of Mount Summit passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023. He was born July 11, 1945 in Henry County to the late Ralph and Elizabeth "Betty" (Powell) Bunner.
Mark was a graduate of Mt. Summit High School then earned his Bachelor's degree in Agriculture from Purdue University. While at Purdue, he was a member of the All-American Marching Band and Kappa Kappa Psi Band Honorary Fraternity. Mark was a longtime member of the New Castle Rotary Club, New Castle First Friends Church, and former trustee of the Henry County Memorial Park. He grew up in Mt. Summit, Indiana on the family farm and farmed for the majority of his life. In his later years, he became an Accountant and CFO of many companies. More than anything, Mark loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Jay Bunner-Sorg (Eric) of Orlando, Florida, Brian Bunner (Stephanie) of New Castle, Todd Bunner (Christa) of Grand Haven, Michigan, Beth Ann (Jared) Ferguson of Worthington, Indiana; 12 grandchildren, sisters, Rosemary (Bill) Maxwell of Salem, Virginia and Linda Dobrzeniecki of Walled Lake, Michigan; 7 Nieces and Nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Elizabeth (Betty) Bunner and brother-in-law, Peter Dobrzeniecki.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Dwight Elliott officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Christian Cemetery in Springport. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Henry County Historical Society.
