Michael "Mikey" Ray Ott, 19, of Knightstown passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2023, following a truck accident. He was born November 5, 2003, in Walterboro, South Carolina.
Mikey was a senior at Knightstown High School and had enlisted in the Marine Corps. He was on the High School Golf Team, a member of F.F.A., and was an A-B Honor Roll student. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting and watching movies. Mikey loved tinkering on lawn tractors and automobiles; he had a passion for helping others and helping out at church where he ran sound and video at Knightstown First Christian Church. He gave his life to Christ on July 15, 2018.
Mikey had a new puppy, Ernest and had just become an uncle and was excited to meet his new nephew.
He is survived by his parents, Steven and Carolyn Ott; brothers, Justin (Holli) Derush of Ohio, Adam Ott of Muncie and Nathan Ott of Knightstown; nephew, Lincoln Samuel Derush; grandmother, Sharon Grizzell; 7 uncles; 4 aunts; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandfather, Carl "Joe" Grizzell, Sr., grandparents, Arnold and Mattie Ott.
Visitation will be Friday January 27, 2023, from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Knightstown High School. Services will be on Saturday January 28, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at the High School with Pastor Anthony Darling officiating. Burial will be at Laurel North Cemetery. Please enter the High School at the Athletic Entrance Door 14. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown.

I'll never forget the day you were born. Michael Allen DeRush Jr. 6 pounds 6 oz. blond hair and baby blue eyes. I had 6 years with you. 6 years I'll hold forever in my heart.
