Nancy E. Faurote, 84, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025, at Henry Community Health in New Castle. She was born July 29, 1941, in New Castle, a daughter of the late William Everett and Goldie (Goar) Kendall.
A 1959 graduate of Walter P. Chrysler Memorial High School, Nancy worked in retail for many years around New Castle at Smith's Jewelry, Ginny's Hallmark, and at a shoe store in town. She also worked in the cafeteria at the high school in New Castle where she made sure every child had food, even if their account was empty.
She loved taking drives with her husband, Jim, and especially loved her grandchildren, who she enjoyed babysitting for as well.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of over 65 years, Jim L. Faurote of New Castle, whom she married March 9, 1960; three children, Robin (William) Kundtz of New Castle, James L. (Angie) Faurote of Lapel, and Emily (Scott) Koontz of New Castle; five grandchildren, Brandon Craig, Justin Faurote of New Castle, Nicholas (Eva) Faurote of Middletown, Travis (Grace) Koontz of Dayton, OH, and Margo Koontz of Indianapolis; seven great grandchildren, Alex, Conlan, Fenix, Ila, Ozli, Blake and Wendell; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Donald and James Kendall.
Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 28 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., following visitation, and will be officiated by Pastor Allen Polston. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition.
