Norman "Norm" W. Jeffries, 79, of New Castle passed away Monday, September 22, 2025 at his residence. He was born October 7, 1945 in New Castle to the late Wyatt H. and Ina (Carnes) Jeffries.
Norm was a graduate of Walter P. Chrysler High School. He retired from Indiana Bell/Ameritech Phone Company following 35 years of service as a Customer Service Specialist. Norm was a longtime member of the New Castle Elks #484. He was a jack of all trades and could fix literally anything. He was the "guy" you called when something broke. In his free time, he enjoyed restoring furniture, being outdoors, vacationing at the beach, boating and was an avid sudoku enthusiast. Norm will always be remembered as a jokester, active, personable and just an all-around great guy that will be deeply missed.
Norm is survived by his children, Tim Jeffries, Misty Watt, Amber (Nathan) Nofziger and April (Stephen) Cothron; grandchildren, Jarred Watt, Karissa Watt, Cadence Nofziger and Trinity Cothron; great grandchildren, Easton, Keegan and Lydia Watt; a brother, Larry (Barbara) Jeffries and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Todd Jeffries; one brother and four sisters.
A memorial gathering will be from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. You may express condolences or share a memory of Norm at www.hinsey-brown.com.
