Paul Edward Pierce, 72, of Daleville, passed away on May 5, 2025. Born on Aug. 17, 1952, in New Castle, Paul was the son of the late John William and Mary Lois (Painter) Pierce.
He graduated from Blue River Valley High School in 1971. Paul enjoyed working on neighboring farms and for the Oakville Elevator before joining Chrysler Corporation in New Castle. He later transferred to the Kokomo plant, where he retired after approximately 25 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the UAW Local 685.
He enjoyed taking drives to visit friends and acquaintances to share a laugh – his quick wit and love of humor made him a favorite among those who knew him. He never missed an opportunity to strike up a conversation, share a story, or discuss current events.
Paul's interests were many: he was a fan of old television shows, especially Westerns. As a youth, he was active in the FFA, 4-H, Boy Scouts of America and enjoyed quail and pheasant hunting, and camping with his high school friends from the Mooreland area. Paul was an avid nascar follower. He liked college basketball and when he was younger, he was in the Rose Bowl Youth league and played junior high basketball.
He also cherished fishing with his father and brothers. Paul was a certified scuba diver. Paul and his family are lifelong members of Springport Christian Church.
Paul is survived by his brothers, Harry (Shirley) Pierce of Colorado; David (Judy) Pierce of Daleville; William "Bill" (Sharon) Pierce of KY; John (Beverly) Pierce of Carmel; and Charles (Lori) Pierce of Knightstown; nieces and nephews, Graham (Elyse) Pierce, Emily Pierce, Michael Pierce, Nikki Bouslog, Chelsea Roberts, Ian (Anna) Pierce, Ben Pierce, Paige (Thor) Christianson, along with many great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
