Robert Wayne Rader was born in Anderson Indiana on December 1, 1927. He went to be with our Lord peacefully March 10th 2023. He was surrounded by his loving family and Pastor Nathan Edwards. He was a kind and generous man who gave his heart and soul to God, his family, and the community.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Harold and Grace (Williams) Rader, his sister Betty (Rader) McClerny, brother Lloyd Rader, and brother Howard Rader.
He is survived by his loving wife Lillian (Maddox) Rader, five children, Vicky (Randy), Ivan (Julie), Jeff, Ken, and Larry. Also, there are nine grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.
Robert graduated Mooreland High School in 1945. He then attended Central Communications School. Part of his training was in Kansas City, Kansas where he met Lillian Maddox and later married her in November 1949. They moved back to Mooreland, IN to the family farm where he had a business in New Castle, IN, 'Bob's Radio and Television'. Later he sold the business to work at WTHR television channel 13 and moved the family to Indianapolis. He also taught electronics at several technical schools in town. His next career move was in communications at Purdue University and finally at Ball State University where he retired as Chief Electronics Engineer. Following retirement, Bob enjoyed driving a school bus for Blue River Valley Schools and volunteering at the Wilbur Wright Birthplace Museum. He was a lifelong member of First Christian Church of Mooreland and served as a Deacon for many years. Lillian and Robert spent the next few years traveling and enjoying their farm. Robert had along life well-loved and lived. He left the world a better place, a goal for which we all strive.
Services will be 1:00pm Friday, March 17, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Nathan Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00am until time of service on Friday. In Lieu of flower, memorial contributions maybe given to the First Christian Church of Mooreland.
