Sandra Decker, 73, a resident of New Castle passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024 at the Rawlins House of Pendleton. She was born June 17, 1950 in Indianapolis to the late James Arthur and Glendora Muriel (Smith) Adams, Sr.
Sandy retired from New Castle Community Schools where she was employed as secretary to the superintendent for 32 years. She and her husband, Ron were members of the Anderson Corvette Club for over 30 years. Sandy enjoyed working in her flower garden and fishing. But more than anything, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory two sons, Carl (Melissa) Decker of Apollo, PA and Cliff (Wendy) Decker of Fishers; grandchildren, Jordan Decker, Marissa Holmes, Michael Holmes, Austin Decker and Alexis Decker; brothers: Duane (Betty) Adams of Lafayette, Larry (Ellen) Adams of Stilesville, William (Linda) Adams of Florida, Samuel (Dawn) Adams of Plainfield and Ed (Chris) Adams of Texas; sisters: Susan Hastings of Camby and Brenda Barnhill of Indianapolis; lifelong friend: Darlene Westfelt of Chattanooga, TN; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Ronald Decker; grandson, Allen Decker; four brothers: James Adams, Jr., Charles "Butch" Adams, Douglas Adams and Daniel Adams.
Services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Jim Becker officiating. Visitation will be from 3 -6 p.m. prior to the service.
