Travis W. Banta, 45, of Hagerstown went to be with his Lord and Savior unexpectedly Monday, September 27, 2021 at Henry Community Health in New Castle. He was born October 4, 1975 in Muncie, Indiana, a son of Robert and Linda (Neal) Banta.
A graduate of New Castle High School, Travis attended Vincennes University and received his associate degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University. He was employed at Foursquare Church as maintenance director for 15 years. Travis was formerly employed at Ahaus Tool & Die Shop in Richmond as a journeyman tool & die maker. He was an active member of Foursquare Church and his passion was working with DIVE, Agape', Wyldliife, Foursquare Youth and Summer Camps. He was a man after the heart of God and was so passionate about sharing the love of Jesus with anyone around him. He was invested in the lives of the next generation and his life and testimony has impacted so many of the youth in this city. He was an avid knife collector and enjoyed hiking, fishing, kayaking, playing basketball, football and wrestling. Travis especially enjoyed watching his kids play sports.
Left to cherish his memory include is his wife of 22 years, Amy (Werking) Banta, whom he married July 10, 1999; three children, Madalyn, Nathan and Cecilia Banta; father, Robert Banta of Springport; aunt & uncle, Rick & Debra Neal; two cousins that he considered as siblings: Chad Neal and Jaime Miller; his in-laws, Tom & Tammy Werking; many other family members and a host of friends.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, U.G. & Mabel Neal; paternal grandparents, Dallas and Della Banta and a special cousin, Eli Neal.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Foursquare Gospel Church in New Castle with Pastor Jim Becker officiating. Private burial for the family will be in Hillsboro Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to the Foursquare Children & Youth Programs, 3200 South 14 th Street, New Castle, IN 47362.

I am so saddened for your loss, I met him in 1992, he was a good kid back then, I always knew he would be a good man. So sorry Robert. My heart goes out to his wife and children. The Lord took a good one home.
