Gigi Angell Obituary

Gigi Angell passed away on March 9, 2025 just a few days short of her 81st birthday.
Born in Austria in 1944, she began her life in Russian occupied Baden. Living in an oppressed area enforced a quiet frugal nature in her that she passed onto her daughter. Gigi trained as a chemist for a tire company, but chose to leave the country. After emigrating to the USA she found her true love, Norman Angell. Together they had a daughter, Nicole Renee Angell. Norman's job with IBM caused the family to move many times before his retirement to Florida. Gigi enjoyed the various places they lived.
She was a talented knitter, crocheter, sewist, cross stitcher, and crafter. Gigi loved traveling the USA and beyond with her family whenever possible. She especially loved hiking in State and National Parks and visiting museums. When Norman passed away in 2007, Gigi and her daughter combined forces and finally moved to Dahlonega in 2010.
Here she volunteered for the Gold Museum, square danced, and walked in nature. Gigi was content with her life. She is survived by her daughter Nicole (Nici) Renee Angell.
Gigi's Celebration of Life will be held at The Dahlonega Gold Museum Historic Site on Thursday, March 20 from 5:15 to 7:00 p.m.
