James Jarrett Obituary

James Willard Jarrett, Sr. age 67, of Dahlonega, Georgia, passed away on May 8, 2025. Born on September 15, 1957, in Tate, Georgia, he was the son of the late Jesse James Jarrett and Catherine Cole.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his siblings Wallace Jarrett, Junior Jarrett, Kenneth Jarrett, George Jarrett, Bobby Roberts, Marvin Jarrett, and Charlotte Jarrett.
James is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Jarrett of Dahlonega; sons James (Vickie) Jarrett of Dahlonega and Marvin (Kim) Jarrett of Dawsonville; and his beloved grandchildren Jessica (Keith) Porter, Amber (Bradlee) Miller, Brittany (Andrew) Parks, Hailey Jarrett, James Jarrett, David Jarrett, Chris Jarrett, Rosy Jarrett, Bentlee Jarrett, Paisley Jarrett, and Raylee Jarrett. He was also the proud great-grandfather of Braylee Miller, Brayden Miller, Adlee Miller, Adylen Miller, Kamden Jarrett, Elijah Parks, and Maze Slight.
He is also survived by his siblings Kathy Hudson, Steve Jarrett, Marie Kimbrell, Inez Castleberry, P Sr. Patricia Buice, Johnny Roberts, Irene Mumper, Rachel Holmes, and Brenda Freeman, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and other loved ones.
Affectionately known as "Papa James," he was a man who found his greatest joy in his family. He loved working on cars with his sons and was most recently restoring a 1955 Oldsmobile-his pride and joy. Known for his good-natured teasing, James had a special way of showing love by "aggravating" those closest to him, a trait that will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home, with Rev. Bobby Pirkle officiating. Interment followed at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens in Cumming, Georgia.
