Mary Lou Trammell Obituary

Mrs. Mary Lou Trammell, age 91, of Dahlonega, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, August 23, 2025, following an extended illness.
Mary Lou had a radiant, contagious smile and was deeply committed to serving the Lord, her beloved husband of 58 years, Jerry, and her family. A lifelong member of Concord Baptist Church in Dahlonega, she was active in the church and the choir. Mary Lou spent her days keeping her home, cooking, and helping Jerry tend their garden. She was very close to her daughter, Charmane, and never missed her daily calls. Mary Lou was known as "Mimi" to her grandsons and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful grandmother and visited with them every Sunday. A member of The Red Hatters for several years, Mary Lou was stylish and knew how to have fun, whether it was with her great-grandkids or her close friends.
Born December 7, 1933, to the late Joe Head and Ellen Butler Head, Mary Lou married Jerry Trammell on July 23, 1967. A lifelong resident of Dahlonega, she graduated from Lumpkin County High School. She was a diligent worker during her employed years, retiring after 30 years from Burlington Industries-Pine Tree, where she met Jerry and worked another 35 years for the Folgers.
In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was also preceded in death by her brothers, Loye Head and Broton Head, her sister, Blonnie Wimpy, brother-in-law, RF Wimpy, and sisters-in-law, Minnie Lou Head and Elizabeth Head.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Trammell; daughter, Charmane Biggers and son-in-law, Mitchell Biggers; sister, Margie Jobson and brother-in-law, David Jobson; grandchildren, Heath and Tasha Biggers and Dustin and Chelsea Biggers; great-grandchildren, Trace Biggers, Lane Biggers, Honor Biggers, Riley Biggers, Elijah Biggers, Dolly Biggers, Lilla Biggers, Oliver Biggers, Owen Biggers, Ladd Biggers and Emma Biggers; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, special friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held August 26, 2025 at Concord Baptist Church in Dahlonega, with the Rev. Lyman Caldwell and the Rev. Casey Robinson officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Concord Baptist Church in Dahlonega in Mary Lou's honor. Those may be sent to Concord Baptist Church, C/O Johnny Cantrell, 537 Grindle Bridge Road, Dahlonega, GA 30533.
