Barbara Winfree Falterman was born in Vinton on February 23, 1936, to the late Herbert Clinton Winfree and Maxine Farque Winfree. She spent her life working within the Iberia Parish Government, retiring as the Clerk of the Council. Her contributions to the community through her work will always be remembered and cherished by those whose lives she touched.
In her moments of leisure, Barbara found solace in nature. She had a deep love for being outside, tending to her yard and nurturing her garden. It was within these green spaces that she found therapy and peace. Her affection for flowers, plants and trees reflected her nurturing spirit.
Mrs. Falterman is survived by two daughters, Beth Dubois (Chad) and Mindy Early (Gary); siblings Becky Gordon and Keith Winfree (Cynthia); grandchildren Carson Dubois (Morgan), Olivia Dubois (fiancé Noah Scully), Benjamin Early (Misty), Phillip Early (Sydni), and Bret Early; honorary grandson, Jason Vincent; and great-grandchildren Owen Dubois, Lucas Dubois, Nola Early, Lillian Early and Lincoln Early.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son Clinton Anthony Peltier; sister Gayle Shemeley; and husbands Allen Peltier, Alfred Schoeffler and Charles "Buster" Falterman.
Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Her presence brought joy and comfort to all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
