ANNA EMBURGIA Obituary

Anna (Gullo) Emburgia, 89, of Vineland passed away Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010, at Genesis HealthCare Millville Center.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to the late Federico and Rose (DeCarlo) Gullo, she was a longtime area resident. In her younger years, she was a Brownie leader, Cub Scout leader, a member of the Mothers Club of Maurice Fels School and the Woman's Club of Vineland. Anna enjoyed playing cards, and entertaining her family and friends. She enjoyed her time working as a receptionist at her husband's dental practice in Vineland, but her biggest joy was being a mother and grandmother.

She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Dr. Joseph A. Emburgia, in 2000; her sister, Lucy Iorio; brother, Sal Gullo; and son-in-law, Michael J. Cast.

A church visitation will be held from 8:45 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m., from St. Isidore the Farmer Church, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland.

Entombment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Vineland.

Arrangements are under the supervision of Rone Funeral Service, 1110 E. Chestnut Ave., Vineland.

Donations may be made to St. Isidore the Farmer Church, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland, NJ 08361-6598; or a charity of one's choice.

My condolences to the Emburgia family. I remember your wonderful mother well. Our family were dental patients. As a child, Dr. Emburgia [and Mrs. Emburgia] would calm us children during dental work by singing: "When you eat pizza pie, it will hit you in the eye. That's amore..!! <3 Wonderful memories. May the both rest in peace! [Lani Torres MacDonald, Esq. of St. Petersburg, Florida - Torres Family of Vineland]

My condolances to the Emburgia family. I remember Anna whenever I went to the Dr. Emburgia's office ... This was about 40 years ago, but I always remember she would give me a lollipop or an eraser when I had a good check-up. Both Mr. and Mrs. Emburgia will always be remembered by my family for many years to come.
