Charles "Reggie" Constantine, 75, of Vineland passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, at home.
Reggie was born and raised in Vineland and graduated from Vineland High School in 1953. After graduation, Reggie joined the Marine Corps in 1954 and was honorably discharged as a corporal in 1957. He then worked for Acme Markets from 1957 to 1987 and later for the Buena Regional School District from 1988 to retirement in 2001.
Reggie was a charter member of the first Red-Gray Booster Club in the late 1950s. He was a manager and ball player for the J & J News softball team in the old beer league. Reggie was also president of a social organization called the "Rancid Club." He was the first cousin of Joan Weber of "Let Me Go Lover" fame, the number one song in 1955.
Reggie is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kathleen (Sanders) Constantine of Vineland; his son, Ronald Constantine (Joann) of Vineland; his two stepdaughters, Madeline Nichols (Robert) of Vineland and Lisa Sautter (John) of Arvade, Colo.; four grandchildren, Angela, Theresa, Jessica and Noah; three great-grandchildren, Devonte, Travis and Jordan and his beloved godchild, Lori and husband Fred and their son, Ian.
Private inurnment will be held at the Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery, Hopewell.
Donations in memory of Charles may be made to the NJ Veterans Memorial Home, 524 N.W. Blvd., Vineland, NJ 08360.
