Francis J. "Frank" Brady, 86, of Fairton died Monday afternoon, Sept. 20, 2010, at his home.
Born in Bridgeton, he was the son of the late Francis X. and Mary (Rugenus) Brady. A lifelong area resident, he graduated from Bridgeton High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. As a staff sergeant, he was a bombardier with the 326th Bomb Squadron. He was a part of the 92nd Bomb Group and served in the European, African and Middle Eastern theaters. Wounded during active duty, he received the Purple Heart, two Bronze Campaign stars and an Air Medal with an oak leaf cluster.
Mr. Brady attended engineering school and served as an engineer at Wheaton Scientific in Millville for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of Church of the Immaculate Conception in Bridgeton and a life member of Shoemaker Post No. 95 American Legion. An avid fisherman, Mr. Brady loved to fish on the Delaware Bay. He was proud of his carpentry skills, but most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and talking about fishing.
He is survived by his best friend and companion, Mary Ward; four children, Michael Brady, his wife Helen and their daughter Stephanie of Vineland, Kathleen Siciliano and her husband Joe of Bryn Mawr, Pa., James Brady and his wife Donna of Rosenhayn, and Dennis Brady, his wife Suzann and their sons Dennis and John of Buena Vista Township. Mr. Brady also is survived by one sister, Victoria Martino of Ventnor; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, John P. Brady, in 1984.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral liturgy, which will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Church of the Immaculate Conception, 312 N. Pearl St., Bridgeton, where friends will be received from 10 until 11 a.m. The burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Bridgeton.

Francis has been in my thoughts lately. I have been wondering about him lately. I was telling my husband about his service injury. The last time I saw Francis was at my Father's funeral (Andy Anderson). I was so happy to see him there. So sorry to hear of Francis' passing. I remember such fun times visiting Aunt Mamie and Uncle Frank and the player piano. Love and prayers to all of you, Louise (Anderson) Huskey

I am so sad of the loss of my Uncle Franny who I loved so much. He became my dad so long ago when my father died. He took us into his home and we became part of his family. We enjoyed many vacations with the Brady Bunch too which I loved . He walked me down the isle when I got married .......his being there for me meant so much to me . My prayers go out to his children, my cousins Michael, Kathy , Jimmy and Dennis......and to my Mom, his sister, who loved him dearly. Sorry I can't make the funeral but you will be in my heart and soul . Love, cousin Anne
