Frank J. Ferrillo, master barber and longtime owner and operator of Great Haircuts in Bridgeton passed away peacefully at the NJ Memorial Veterans Home in Vineland on Monday morning November 21, 2016. He was 98 and had been a resident of the Memorial Home for the last three years.

A longtime resident of Millville, he was born and raised in Bridgeton and was the last surviving of 10 children born to Pasquale "Charles" and Agnes Battaglia Ferrillo. In 2012, his wife of 71 years, Marguerite C. (nee Iannello) Ferrillo, predeceased him.

Mr. Ferrillo lived on Sharp Street in Millville for 49 years.

He entered the US Army, with his mother's permission, when he was 16. He began his working career as a master barber at a young age. He operated Frank's Barber Shop in Bridgeton before his second enlistment in 1944 to the US Army during WW II where he served as a Staff Sergeant until his honorable discharge in 1945. Upon his discharge, he returned to his work in the barber shop. He later operated Ye Friendly Barber on N. Pearl Street and later transitioned the shop to the building next store; changing the name to Great Haircuts where his son John joined him working together for 25 years. He continued to own and operate the barber and beauty shop until his retirement at age 80.

On November 21, 2003, the City of Bridgeton dedicated the space where the original barber shop was located on N. Pearl Street as "Frank Ferrillo Park."

Mr. Ferrillo was a longtime member of the Parish of All Saints/St. Mary Magdalen RC Church in Millville and was also a member of the Catholic War Veterans.

He is survived by one daughter, Agnes Sharp (Robert) of Millville, Charles Ferrillo (Diane) of Vineland and John Ferrillo (Sharon) of Hopewell Twp., eight grandchildren, Jerry Headley (Tina), Frank Headley (Jeff), Tim Headley (Max), Tom Headley (Denise, deceased), John Mario Ferrillo (Carmen), Kelley Becker (Damon), Lauren Canonico (Tim) and Dustin Ferrillo, eight great grandchildren, Jerry, Jessica, Monica and Amelia Headley, Natalie and Sophia Canonico, Katie and Madison Becker, one great great granddaughter, Sophia Risley. In addition to his parents, siblings and his wife, he was predeceased by a granddaughter, Melissa Headley.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Liturgy at the Parish of All Saints / St. Mary Magdalen RC Church, 621 Dock Street, Millville on Tuesday morning November 29th at 11:15.

The interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Millville.

Friends will be received at the church Tuesday morning from 10 until 11 with the eulogy to be delivered at 11.
