Hattie Mae Brown Harrington, 79, of Millville went home to be with the Lord after several weeks of illness on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at South Jersey Healthcare Bridgeton Hospice Division.
Born on May 19, 1931, to the late Alice Brown and James Harrington, in Wallace, S.C., she was a member of the Eastside Church of God, Broad Street, Millville. Hattie Mae also enjoyed fellowshipping at the Truth Baptist Church, Norma.
Hattie Mae was an extremely hard worker. She retired from Wheaton Glass Co. after 32 years of service. Hattie Mae was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan. She enjoyed hosting family reunions and spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Hattie Mae leaves to cherish her memories one son, Deacon Sammie Brown; eight sisters, Evelyn Brown, Martha Harrington, Elsie Williams, Inez Redfurn, Delores Little, Ruby (James) Walker Harrington, Gail Harrington and Joann Harrington; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; two special nephews, James Edward, and Gary Brown; one special niece, Mary Brown Harris, one special great-nephew, Kyle James Kerr; a special friend, Carol McCullough; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Hattie Mae was preceded in death by her three sisters, seven brothers, one son, one daughter, one grandson and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at noon Tuesday at the Truth Baptist Church, New York Avenue, Newfield, where friends may view two hours prior to services. Interment will be held at Greenwood Memorial Park, East Broad Street, Millville, immediately following services.
