JOHN FELDER Obituary

John Clay Felder Sr., 89, of Buena Vista Township died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at home.

Born in Orangeburg, S.C., he was an area resident for 44 years. Mr. Felder served for 25 years in the U.S. Navy. He was a veteran of World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War. He was a member of First Union Baptist Church in Newtonville, VFW Post No. 158 in Landisville, Seniors of Newtonville Community Group and Newtonville Volunteer Fire Company, and was a founder and lifelong member of the Unexpected Civic Association.

He was predeceased by his wife, Dolores C. Felder; and his brother, Ozie Felder Sr.

He is survived by four sons, Bruce A. Felder (Vickie) of Eryria, Ohio, Junious G. Watkins Felder (Linda) of Elwood, Robert L. Felder of Minotola and John C. Felder Jr. of Atco; three daughters, Joanbrenda D. Jackson (Bobby) of Upper Deerfield, Loretta E. Barnes (Ricardo) of Newtonville and Karen C. Felder Grantham of Sicklerville; brother-in-law, George and Thelma Watkins Sr. of Whitesboro; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at First Union Baptist Church, 854 Jackson Road, Newtonville, where funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Route 50, Estell Manor.
