Kennard C. Coleman, 74 of Alloway, NJ died May 30, 2016 at home.

Ken was born in 1941, son of the late Earl and Elizabeth Coleman. He was raised in N, Queen Anne's County where he was a 1959 graduate of Sudlersville High School. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He and his first wife Nancy moved to Virginia where he was district manager for W.T. Grant Department Stores. He returned to Kent County in 1970 and opened a flooring business that flourished for 38 years. In 1993 he married Dorothy living in Betterton, Sudlersville, and most recently New Jersey. He enjoyed farming throughout his life, showing cows in 4-H, raising livestock, and grain. He also enjoyed coaching the Betterton-Kennedyville Baseball Team, snow skiing, fishing, golfing, dancing, cards, croquet, and horseback riding.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Charlotte Sutton and brother, Reese Coleman.

Mr. Coleman is survived by his wife of 23 years, Dorothy Chinnici Coleman; son, Kenny Coleman (Ladease) of Galena, MD; daughter, Theresa Coleman Fauteux of QA County; step-children, George and Dennis Cox both of Vineland, NJ and Terry Burritt (J.R.) of Alloway, NJ; grandchildren, Rosemary Moore, Kennard C. 'Buddy' Coleman, III, Emma Coleman and Tracy Lee 'T.J' Fauteux, II; and step-grandchildren, Victoria and Anthony Cox and Austin Burritt.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 15 at 11 am in Olivet United Methodist Church, Galena, MD.

In lieu of flowers and in honor of Ken's affinity for livestock, specifically beef cattle, memorials may be offered to County Corners 4-H Club, 51 Cheney Rd., Suite 1, Woodstown, NJ 08098.
