Lucy "Sis" McVey (Hennessy), 83, of Voorhees and formerly of Collingswood, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012.
Beloved wife of the late Thomas B. McVey. Loving mother of Michael McVey and his wife Joan, James McVey and his wife Carol, Kathy Murphey and her husband Bryan, and the late Thomas Patrick McVey. Caring grandmother of Lena, Cori, Tyler, Jimmy, Jeremy, Nolan, Aidan and Erin. Cherished great-grandmother of Hunter, Gavin and Madigan Lucille. Dear sister of Joseph and Sonya Hennessy and the late Edwin Hennessy. Survived by her sister-in-law, Edna Hennessy.
Lucy was born and raised in Vineland and worked at the Kimble Glass Company with her family. She also worked for the Dioceses of Camden for more than 20 years. Lucy loved spending time with her family and friends and hopping in her car and just going. Whether it was going to the casinos, boardwalk, beach, Sea Isle City or just going out to dinner, Lucy knew the value of spending time with others.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Tuesday from 7 until 9 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home, Route 73 and Evesham Road, and on Wednesday from 10 until 10:45 a.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 27 Kresson Gibbsboro Road, Gibbsboro, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Interment will be private.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
