I shall always remember my mother's younger sister for being like a second mother to me. I spent so much time at her house, being with my cousins, and being treated as one of her own. We played in the playhouse she built in the backyard, ate so many meals there, helped clean up the kitchen, and I took more than a few baths there as a young child, as well as spending the night. We climbed the tree in the front yard, and visited with the Wolkis' next door, Tom down the street, and played the player piano in the den. Much of my formative years were spent with Aunt Max. And so life has a way of sometimes allowing you to give back, and thus it was with Aunt Max. As she grew older, I was able to be there at times to help her move, take her to dinner, or an appointment, or to the bank, or drive her to a family holiday celebration. And ultimately I was honored to be with her as she transitioned from this life to the next, to hold her hand, pray with her, and give her reassurance. I shall not forget the last smile she gave me. Although she was struggling, the faint smile was quintessential Aunt Max - she smiled the smile that I knew and remembered and always will. May you now be fully healed, enjoying perfect contentment, knowledge beyond all understanding, and I will see you again in Heaven. Until then, Rest In Peace. Brad
