Richard Yacovelli Obituary

Richard Yacovelli, 71, of Clayton passed away peacefully at home with his loved ones on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012.

He was a dedicated family man and friend. He was an avid history reader with an emphasis on the Civil War who enjoyed camping and traveling with his RV, cooking, and hunting. He was a devoted union electrician with Local 351 IBEW retired in 1995 and a member of the Clayton Elks Lodge No. 2132. Husband of 52 years to his bride, Catherine Lucille (Dobson) Yacovelli. Father of Kelli Yacovelli, Rich Yacovelli, Kristi (Yacovelli) (Mike) Keenan and the late John Yacovelli. Grandfather of Nicole (Yacovelli) (Dan) Sanders and Josh Yacovelli. Brother of Marie Grandi, Arlene (Yacovelli) (Fred) Mastrogiovanni, Betty Hauenstein, and the late Frank, George, Catherine and Margaret. Brother-in-law to Frank Dobson, Josie (Pete) Scaffidi and Nancy Gray. Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Lifelong friend to Ken Gallagher and sons and Don Kohler. Son of the late Frank and Anna (Carlton) Yacovelli.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Barclay Funeral Home, 208 Maple St., Clayton. Funeral service at noon at the funeral home. Interment at Cedar Green Cemetery, Clayton.

For those who so desire, contributions may be made in his memory to the John Yacovelli Scholarship Memorial Fund, Sacred Heart High School, 15 N. East Ave., Vineland, NJ 08360.

Richard worked with my dad through the IBEW. I remember him coming over to our pool parties and even the possible fishing trip. I remember him to have been a good man. May comfort come to those who mourn his loss.

I am truly saddened. My deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Yacovelli family. His kindness and sense of humor truly warmed my heart .
