William E. Goldsboro

AGE: 87 • Vineland

William E. Goldsboro, aged 87 years of Vineland and formerly of Pittsgrove Twp. passed away early Wednesday morning, February 8, 2017 in the NJ Memorial Veterans Home, Vineland.

Born in Gouldtown to the late Frank and Rebecca (nee Loatman) Goldsboro, he was the husband of the late Dorothy Goldsboro, who passed in 2007.

Bill worked in the construction field for over 50 years and was an Operating Engineer and Truck Driver for Lavari Trucking in Vineland. He worked on the construction project of the Cumberland Hotel in Bridgeton and several other construction sites. He was a proud veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Army. In his younger years, he loved baseball and was a catcher in the Negro Triple A Leagues. He loved horse racing and was a former breeder of five horses, he enjoyed camping and gardening with his former wife, and he also loved hunting and fishing. He was a former member of Wesley Memorial A.M.E. Church of Rosenhayn, where he had formerly served as a Trustee, and also a member of Trinity A.M.E. Church, Gouldtown. He loved his family and was most happy spending time with them and his many grandchildren.

He is survived by his children Vincent Bright and wife Darlene, Jeffrey Goldsboro and wife Kim, Michael Goldsboro and wife Anna, Jonathan Goldsboro, Peggy Robinson and husband Virgil, Annett Toni Young and husband Daniel, Joy Atkins and husband Bob, and Rochelle Manno and husband David, brothers and sisters Helen Morris, Rose Smith, Bernice Bailey, Elaine Street, Marion Harris, Linwood Goldsboro, Wayne Goldsboro, John Goldsboro, and George Goldsboro, his 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased besides his wife Dorothy, by two sons William Goldsboro, and Donald Bright, a daughter Valerie Goldsboro, and brother and sister, Frank Goldsboro, and Doris Pierce.

Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Monday morning February 13, 2017 at 11:00a.m. from Trinity A.M.E. Church, Rt. 49 Gouldtown. A viewing will be held from 9:30a.m. till 11:00a.m.. The interment with Military Honors will be in Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery, Hopewell Twp. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests, donations be made the NJ Memorial Veterans Home, Volunteers, 524 NW Blvd. Vineland, NJ 08360. Written condolences and expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting the funeral home website at www.sraywebsterfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are by the SRAY-WEBSTER FUNERAL HOME, Upper Deerfield Twp.

To all of The Goldsboro Family, Our, extended family. It sadden us to hear of Pop's passing. Please know that we share your loss. Pop will be missed by so many . He was so loved for being who he was, a person, Dad, Grand Dad, Brother, Uncle, and Husband, but most of all a very proud man, one that set an example for all of is family follow.
