Jodi Olsen-Shields Obituary
Jodi was born on May 28, 1960 in Lakeview, Michigan, the daughter of Don and Nancy (Roush) Olsen.
Jodi graduated from Lakeview High School in 1978. She worked at Hudson's in Grand Rapids for several years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. Jodi enjoyed watching her Michigan State Spartans and Detroit Lions on the weekends and was known for her verbal celebrations and occasional scoldings.
Jodi as preceded in death by her father, Don L. Olsen. She is survived by her son, Michael Shields and grandchildren Zayla and Cayden; daughter, Nichole Shields and granddaughter Harmoni; mother, Nancy Olsen; sister, Julie Schrebe and brother-in-law Dan; brother, Troy Olsen and sister-in-law Debi; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Howard City Funeral & Cremation Services, 225 E Edgerton Street in Howard City. Pastor Mark Mitchell will be officiating.
The family will greet visitors from 12:00 to 1:00pm on Saturday, September 21, at the funeral home prior to the memorial service.
Following the service, the family invites everyone to join them at the Venue on Ensley, 1001 S. Ensley Street, Howard City, MI 49329 for a luncheon.
Burial will take place in the Coral Cemetery on a date yet to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be given to the Jodie Olsen-Shields Memorial Trust held at the Community First Federal Credit Union.

Jodi was a quiet roommate in the Rehab Unit in Greenville. I enjoyed her "salutes" when we passed in the room or the hall. I didn't know Jodi well but she was well liked by the staff at Greenville. Jodi, you have been released from your earthly ties and are revealing in your heavenly freedoms! My deepest sympathies to you, Sue, in this difficult time.

My heart hurts for you Nancy,, Troy and Julie, and the rest of your family for this loss. I have many fond memories back to my high school years of your whole family. My wish for all of you is that the wonderful memories you have of Jodi bring you much comfort in the days ahead, and let the thoughts of her in God´s hand give you peace You are in my heart and my prayers at this sad time. Hugs to you all!
