Kenneth Keiffer Obituary

Kenneth "Ken" Keiffer, beloved husband, father, grandfather passed away on May 20, 2025, at the age of 81. Ken was born on January 1, 1944, in a farmhouse in Carson City, the son of Clayton and Rose (Feuerstein) Keiffer. He grew up with strong roots in faith and community and attended St. Mary's School. On August 29, 1964, he married the love of his life, Sandra Ulsh. Together, they shared 61 wonderful years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and devotion. Ken worked for over 23 years as a devoted Maintenance Supervisor at Ore-Ida Foods until the closure, after which he continued his career at Roskam in Grand Rapids. Following retirement, Ken and his wife Sandy enjoyed the best of both worlds-spending summers in Mackinaw City and winters in Florida for the past 20 years. He had a lifelong love of the outdoors and enjoyed golfing, deer hunting, bird watching, gardening, and traveling with family and friends. Ken was passionate about serving his community. He was a proud member of the Carson City Fire Department for over 30 years and served on the Carson City Council for more than 20 years. He was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Mary Catholic Church. Ken's greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved-especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchild. His warmth, humor, and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Ken is survived by his devoted wife, Sandra (Ulsh) Keiffer; his children Jodie (Kevin) Bolles, Deb (Tom) McCrackin, and Eric (Nicole) Keiffer; grandchildren Jason (Tara) Keiffer, Will (Michelle) McCrackin, Lucas McCrackin, Keifer (Emily) McCrackin, Sam (Dillen) Decker, and Wyatt Keiffer; great-grandchildren MaKenzie, Owen, Ainsley, Sawyer, Graham, and Fife; and great-great-grandchild Isaiah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be held at Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Carson City on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 4-7 pm with the Rosary at 6:30 pm. Visitation at St. Mary Church on Friday, May 23rd an hour prior to the Mass at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow immediately at MaryKnoll Cemetery. We will miss Ken dearly, but we find comfort in knowing that his legacy of love and kindness will live on. We will remember Ken everytime we see a sunset. Those desiring may make contributions to the Carson City Fire Department or St. Mary Catholic Church.
