Sheryl Jean Fleser

1950 - 2024

Sheryl Jean Fleser, age 73, died Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at Corewell Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. She was born June 26, 1950 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Cecil and Waneeta (Gordon) Fisk. On September 26, 1970, she married Roger Fleser at Settlement Lutheran Church in Gowen.
Sheryl was a longtime faithful Settlement Lutheran member and loved her church family. She enjoyed traveling, especially camping, and loved the lake. She was a talented and passionate crafter. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and loved her family very much.
Roger preceded Sheryl in death on March 20, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings-in-law, Don King, and Pauline and Orville Ackley. She is survived by her sons, Matthew (Aimee) Fleser of Rockford, and Phillip (Lyndsey) Fleser of Grand Haven; honorary son, Javier Espinoza and family of Chile; grandchildren, Connor, Brayden, Josie Fleser, and Josh and Monica; brothers, Randy (Char) Fisk of Gowen, Tom (Kathy) Fisk of Gowen, Greg Fisk of Sand Lake, and Steve Fisk of Trufant; siblings-in-law, Wally Fleser, Jr. and wife, Annette "Toni" of Kentwood, Kathleen King of Ada, and Marcia and Darwin Taft of Bass Lake, Gowen.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Sheryl's life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 pm Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville. A short memorial service will begin at 4:00 pm, with Rev. Nan Dehnke of Settlement Lutheran Church officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to Barrie's House at Settlement Lutheran Church, and memories of Sheryl and messages of condolence for her family may be shared at www.hurstfh.com.
