Beverly Lou Godfrey

1934 - 2018

Beverly Lou Godfrey, age 83, of Jonesville, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Drews Place in Hillsdale. She was born March 14, 1934 in Ypsilanti to Warren and Dorothy (Wetterman) Hornibrook. Bev was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Shirley Hornibrook. Beverly married Jack Godfrey on July 11, 1952. Married for 65 years and he survives.
Bev graduated from Jonesville High School in 1952. While Bev was a Homemaker, also was an active supporter of Godfrey Bros. John Deere; an Aide at Greenfield Schools in Hillsdale. Was a member of the Jonesville United Methodist Church and the Jonesville Red Hats. She enjoyed flower gardening, shopping, and eating out, sewing and playing bridge. Bev also was an active volunteer for Hospice of Hillsdale County and help start of the operation. Bev enjoyed traveling to many places around the world.
In addition to her husband, W Jack Godfrey, Bev is survived by five children, Doug & (Susan) Godfrey of Charlevoix, Jill & (Mike) Beach of Quincy, Kimberly & (David) Holcomb of Jonesville, Christine Godfrey of Homer, Alaska and Kevin & (Mariann) of Jonesville. 15 - Grandchildren; Ben Godfrey, Andrew Beach, Michelle Neuman, Adam Beach, Jonathan Beach, Jason Elder, Rob Elder Chris Holcomb, Stephen Holcomb, Nick Szymoniak, Eric Szymoniak, Ryan Szymoniak, Wallace Godfrey, Alan Godfrey, Kyle Godfrey. 15 - Great-grandchildren.
A memorial visitation for Beverly Lou Godfrey will be held Thursday, February 1, 2018 at VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Private family interment will take place at Moscow Plains Cemetery in July 21.
