Douglas Lee Steele

Born: September 29, 1949 | Died: September 6, 2025

Douglas "Doug" Lee Steele, age 75, of Maryville went home to be with the Lord on September 6, 2025. Born on September 29, 1949, he graduated from Lanier High School. Doug retired from UPS after more than 30 years of employment. Doug had a deep love for camping, riding motorcycles, four wheelers, boating, and drag racing. He cherished time spent with family and close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Murriel Steele and Stella Steele Best and sister, Bobbie Jean Downey.

Doug is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law, Misti and Jake Russell of Maryville; grandsons, Hunter (Samantha) Russell and Julian Russell (Emily Conrad); granddaughter, Brooke Russell (Jacob Gaddis); great-grandson, Jonah Douglas Russell all of Maryville. He also leaves behind two loving nieces, several great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends, Mike Herron and Darryl Downey.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
