Born: January 8, 1940 | Died: September 19, 2025
Margaret "Ruth" Coulter Boring, age 85, passed away Friday, September 19th at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Blount County on January 8, 1940 to Anna Lee McCaulley Coulter a direct descendant of Cades Cove and Andy Madison Coulter.
Margaret Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years Von Boring; parents, Anna Lee and Andy Coulter; brother, Gary Joe Coulter.
She graduated from Walland High School in 1958 and went on to the University of Tennessee Nursing program and graduated with honors in 1962. She received the National Society Daughters of the Revolution Representative Award. She retired from Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Piney Level Baptist Church throughout her life and was very active in church, from working in Bible Schools, Senior Citizen programs, Missions, Youth and Sunday School. She helped coordinate the Nickel Point Quilters where they made quilts for St. Jude patients and shut ins.
She is survived by her children, Steve and Shanea Boring, Ronnie and Sherry Myers and Melonie Meares Boring; grandchildren, Shane and Christy Myers, Tracie Rose Meares, Darren Boring, Romulus and Leah Meares IV, Justin and Brittany Myers, Zephariah Meares and Kevin and Ashley Boring; great-grandchildren, Georgia Myers, Jaycee Boring, Ella Caylor, Emma Meares, Boone Boring, Romulus Meares V, Jackson Caylor, Bradlee Myers Jr. And Mason Meares; brother and sisters, Larry and Carol Coulter, Shirley and the late Raymond Burnette, Belle and the late Wayne Tipton; many nieces and nephews, with all being special to her; special friends, Aldie King, Joy Teffeteller, Jerrie Boring and the late Charlene Patty.
Friends may pay their respects and sign the guest register at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Thursday from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Family and friends will meet 2:00 P.M. Friday at Piney Level Cemetery for a graveside service.
