Adler Saindon Obituary

Pompano Beach, Fla. - Adler Edward "Al" Saindon of Pompano Beach, Fla., passed away Oct. 19, 2022 at the age of 89. Al was born April 4, 1933, in New London, to Adler Edward Saindon Sr. and Eleanor Irene Beebe Saindon. Al leaves behind his wife of 70 years, Beverly; his twin sister Cloudia Clough of Concord, N.H. He was predeceased by his sister Edna Bisconti; also, his children, Pamela Saindon of Groton, David Saindon and his husband Robert Shastany of Lauderdale by the Sea, Fla., and Paul Saindon and his wife Eiko of Japan. Al is survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jennifer Saindon of Uncasville, Kelly Saindon of Mexico, Maine, Jack Saindon of N.Y., Sam Saindon of Japan, Rachel Saindon of Arizona, Nicholas Saindon and his partner Jade Romagna of Norwich, Allison Saindon of Uncasville, Jasmine Dixon of Orono, Maine, and Willow Pulk of Mexico, Maine.

Al served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and went on to become a pipefitter with UA Local 777, eventually opening his own plumbing business in East Lyme. After retirement, Al enjoyed working at the Old Lyme Country Club. After moving to Florida, in 2007, he worked at the NY Mets spring training facility at Tradition Field in Port St. Lucie. Al and Bev eventually settled in Pompano Beach, Fla., in 2013. Al worked tirelessly throughout his life to provide for his family. He faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage. Al had a strong work ethic, which he instilled in his family.

Our father, grandfather and great-grandfather was a true role model whom we will always look up to. "Pops, you are at peace now, but you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you."

I'm so sorry for your loss. I worked with Al on several projects at Mitchell college while I was a carpenter there. (He taught me the bread trick). Al was a great mechanic and a true gentleman.

So sorry to hear of Al's passing. I lost touch with him through the years he was a true gentleman. Many good times with him when he bought his plumbing supplies.
