Alben Puhlick Obituary
Born in Larksville, Pa., he was the son of the late Nicholas and Cecelia Puhlick. A graduate of NFA Class of 1954 and the University of New Haven Class of 1971, Al became a mechanical engineer and was employed at Electric Boat in Groton for many years until his retirement. He was a dedicated and active communicant of St. Michael Church, a member of Seaside Beach Club and a passionate UConn sports fan.
In addition to his wife, he leaves four children, Carole Haggerty and fiancé, Thomas DiPietro, of Westerly, Alben F. Puhlick Jr. and fiancée, Laura Kelly, of Farmington, Mary Puhlick and husband, William Glenn, of East Lyme and Patricia Lombardi and husband, Andrew, of Colchester; as well as two siblings, Lorraine Healey of Kiawah, S.C. and Daniel Puhlick of Springfield, Va. Al will be dearly missed by his five grandchildren, Michael, Kathryn, Alexander, Alexis and Jamison; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his brother, Nicholas.
Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Relatives and friends are also invited to attend a funeral liturgy at 10 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Mary's Church, 95 Main St., Stonington. There is no procession to church from the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Pawcatuck.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Michael Capital Campaign, 60 Liberty St., Pawcatuck, CT 06379 in Al's memory.

You don't know me, but I met your husband at the senior center while playing bridge. I used to kid him that he made his living there because he always won the money. He was so smart and the best player of the game that I had ever met. I sent my sympathy to you and your family and may your memories of your life with him replace the sorrow you feel now.
