Alberta Geissman Obituary

Uncasville - Alberta S. (Bissonnette) Geissman, 96, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025. Alberta was born Nov. 15, 1924, in Moosup, the daughter of the late William and Eva (Larose) Bissonnette. She was a graduate of Plainfield High School.

She married the late Theodore K. Geissman III Nov. 11, 1950, in Moosup. He passed away Dec. 20, 1991. After marrying Ted, she spent the majority of her life in the Norwich/Montville area. She enjoyed crocheting afghans and making quilts by hand until her arthritis prohibited her from doing so.

She is survived by her son Theodore K. Geissman IV and wife Jeannine; by her brothers, Joseph and Alfred; by three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; son-in-law Raymond Chabot; and by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son Terrence Geissman; by her daughter Virginia Chabot; brothers, Austin and Maurice; and by her sisters, Sarah and Madeline.

Funeral services will be private and held at a later date.

Alberta's family would like to thank the staff at the Norwichtown Rehab and Care Center for the wonderful and compassionate care that they provided.
