ALEXANDER JORDAN
July 7, 2025
To the Savard and Mugovero families,
My wife Carolyn and I, extend our deepest sympathies to you for the loss of your patriarch , Andre. I am Alexander Jordan, known in the family as "Sandy", Joanies' first cousin. I was a teenager when Joanie introduced him to our family. I was very interested in this older guy who somehow had won the favor of a much loved cousin and while I didn't have a vote in the matter I wanted to make sure he measured up to be Joanie's husband. So I started my personal vetting of Andre from that first day all the way through many years of their marriage, long after my leaving New London.
Needless to say to those who knew and loved him, Andre measured up and exceeded my absurbly high standards and became one of my favorite husbands of my many cousins. He was friendly, funny, thoughtful, accomplished and filled the room with his personality when he entered any gathering. He had recently completed his active duty tour as an Army officer and was serving in the Army Reserve. That alone put him well up on my list of people to aspire to emulate since my long time goal was to serve in the Navy.
But Andre was much more than a recently released Army officer and while we didn't have many opportunities to be together I came to admire him for the lively, sincere and lovable person that he was and shall always remember the happy times when I was with him and Joanie. God bless him. Sandy and Carolyn Jordan

.... When I think back to adults that made a difference in my life growing up Andre is right up there. His humor, his sage advice & his ability to care about you no matter what was something I have never forgotten. I am certain that countless students will see his photo & immediately feel the same. He was certainly a special educator & human. He spoke so highly of his family, always. I am sorry for your loss.
