Born April 26, 1969, in Royal Oak, Mich., he was a son of Thomas and Corliss (Laking) Walsh of Hebron.
Andy was a chef for many years at Poncho Loco in Rockville and, most recently, was a butcher at Ted's Market in Hebron.
He was an avid Giants and Red Sox fan, and in his spare time he enjoyed riding dirt bikes with his brother.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Shawn and Siobhan McLaughlin of Meriden; a niece and two nephews, Alyssa, Seth and Joshua McLaughlin of Suffield; and numerous extended family members and friends.
Andy will be remembered for his fun loving spirit, generosity, and devotion to his family.
Friends may call starting at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Aurora-McCarthy Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester. A chapel service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Hebron Volunteer Fire Dept., PO Box 911, Hebron CT 06248.

I am very saddened to learn of Andy’s passing. My earliest memories of Andy were in grade school and Mrs. Patch's 5th grade class. He'd always have a funny comment that would keep us laughing all day. I remember Andy in the RHAM Vocational Foods class and his love of cooking kept us from "winging" the recipe. He thought that if we made bad food, no one would come eat the morning breakfasts and we'd be out of business (although we didn't make anything for profit). Poncho is one of my all time favorite local restaurants and I wish I had known he was a chef there. My future dining experiences will be with him in mind. My heart, thoughts and prayers go out the family.

My deepest sympathies to Andy's family. Though I only knew Andy in the short time he became my neighbor, it didn't take long for me to realize what a kind and generous person he was. He was always offering to help me out and was always so nice to talk and laugh with. I am sorry I won't have the chance to get to know him better. My thoughts are with you all during this difficult time.

It has been many years since I have seen Andy, but in the time I knew him we had many good times and lots of laughs together. He actually took a few of us to your place up in N.H for the weekend years back, and we had such a fun time. Many people have spoken of Andy's " contagious laugh" and boy was it! You couldn't help but smile and laugh with him. And the way he could tell a story! He was just a genuine, nice guy! May he rest in eternal peace. My condolences to the family.

To Andy's family
We may not have known Andy for very long but my husband and I adored him. We all appreciated his boyish charm and contagious laugh. He was always so sweet with the kids and always had this positive "beaming" quality. Andy would love to talk about work and food and how he loved being a chef. He had such passion in his conversations that everything seemed important whether he was talking with you or intently listening to what you had to say. My husband recalls a convesation about meat sales and laughs about how intensely annimated they both looked when discussing who had a better meat sale- Stew Leonards or Ted's :-)
I liked to watch the talks he would have with my much younger cousin Adin. How they would both light up with these expressions and could talk endlessly and as if no one else in the world was around.
Andy was a sweet man with a kind heart and he will be greatly missed.
May God bless him and you are all in my prayers.

Corliss, Tom and Shawn, I have such fond memories of growing up with Andy on Wall St. We were able to do so many things together (after doing chores) that we may have taken for granted at the time, but looking back, we were so lucky. I was fortunate to have known Andy and will always remember him.

You will forever be in our thoughts and prayers

Words are hard to find that can clearly express my sorrow for the family. I've known Andy for several years and the love he felt for his family is unmatched by anything I have ever seen. When I first met him it seem like I knew him for 30yrs. I will miss him dearly and miss going back and fourth with him on the Red Sox' & Yankee's games.

Dear Tom & Corliss....We loved Andy as much as Trent and Neil did. As Trent thought of Andy as being not only his best friend but a brother, in like we considered him a member of our family. I know that the Lord has cradled Andy in his arms and taken him home to paradise to be with the Father. I hope you all take comfort in knowing he is loved forever and remembered for all his endearing traits, his infectuous giggle, which always made everyone laugh along with him, his utter devotion to both of you for you were indeed his center all of his life, he held you both in the best and most special place in his heart, for his love for his faimily was most important to him for as long as we have known Andy. He loved his friends with the same kind of devotion and fierceness and lived his life with kindness and honor. Andy surely has touched more of us than you may imagine in ways untold, all with love. Always will my family's hearts be holding Andy close.
I loved your son, I find solace in knowing he is in Paradise where we will meet again, renewed, and with open arms and with an infecectuous giggle will he greet us. Andy, you are so loved. Heartfelt Love from our entire family, Trent & Neil Plummer & Kathy & Joe Czajka
