Arlene Walton Obituary

Ludlow, Mass. - Arlene L. (O'Neill) Walton, 79, of 460 West St., Ludlow, Mass., died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, in the care and comfort of her home.

She was born in South Kingston, R.I. Jan. 7, 1933, the daughter of the late John and Eugenie (Faubert) O'Neill. She was a customer service supervisor with many years of service at the Navy Exchange, Submarine Base in Groton. During her life, she and her husband lived in England, and traveled throughout Europe. While at the Vatican, she had and audience with and met Pope John Paul II. In her short time at Keystone Commons she had made many friends. She was the widow of Calvin O. Walton, who died in 1997.

She is survived by her loving family. A son, Kevin Walton of Plainfield; daughters, Pamela Bradway and husband, Scott, of Ludlow, Mass., and Cynthia Caramante and husband, James, of Old Lyme; a brother, Robert O'Neill of Wakefield, R.I. Arlene was the grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of three. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Sadly she was predeceased by brothers, John "Jack" O'Neill, and Senator William O'Neill.

Family and friends are invited to join at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at St. Cecilia's Church, 42 Main St., Wilbraham, Mass. for funeral services celebrating her life. Rites of committal will be in Arlington National Cemetery Arlington, Va. at a later date. It was Arlene's' wish that calling hours be omitted.
