Barbara was a warm and constant friend to the many many people in her life. Her laughter and energy lit up a room. She always shared her blessings with us when we traveled and now she will be the angel watching over us.

Barbara was such a great inspiration! Her light was so bright and we will miss her so much. Our memories of times together warm our hearts and it is our prayer that her loving memory gives comfort to Dennis and her sweet family. May God bless you all. Love, Duncan and Lolly Stoddard

Barbara's presence at my Ledyard school was one of the highlights of working there. She always had a kind word, useful advice, and a meaningful perspective on life. The students loved getting to work with her. She often indulged me a lengthy visit with her dog Tanner, and even let my husband and me take care of him for a week when they were on a trip. What a wonderful influence she has been for so many - a great example of a life well lived. Thank you, Barbara, for bringing light to so many.

I first met Barbara over thirty years ago when our children took piano lessons from the same teacher. We also both worked in the Norwich Schools and wound up negotiating a new contract together until the wee hours of the morning. Just after midnight , she tapped me on the shoulder and said, "I can't believe I turned 50 sitting in here !"
When my son , Mike lived in Mystic years ago, he became the dogr/house sitter for Barbara's beloved dogs. She would always leave him a full fridge and usually one of her famous lasagnas . She was very kind and generous often giving him bonus pay, which was followed by, "Don't tell Dennis". I have a feeling Dennis knew very well that the wonderful woman he married spread her generosity far and wide.
I hadn't seen Barbara in many years , but know if we did run into each other, we would continue right where we left off. I will miss not having that chance. I send my heartfelt sympathy to Dennis , Nichole, Danny and James .
