Barbara Rymash Obituary

Waterford - Barbara Mae (Shepard) Rymash, 91, of Quaker Hill, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.

Born in St. Albans, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Mabel (Richards) Shepard. Barbara was recently residing in Mystic, but lived most of her life in Quaker Hill. She along with her late husband Michael, were the owners and operators of the former Rymash New London Supermarket for many years. Barbara had many interests, she enjoyed traveling abroad, square and line dancing, crafts, sewing, knitting, pottery, oil painting and flower arranging. She had been an active member and past president of the Waterford Seniors.

She is survived by her two sons, Michael A. Rymash of Colchester, Vt. and James Rymash and his wife, Carolyn, of Noank; three grandchildren, Brooke and Donna Rymash and Michelle Peruccio and her husband, Paul; and two great-grandchildren, Megan and Jessica.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 310 Fort Hill Road, Groton. Burial will be private and there are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Southeastern Connecticut, 227 Dunham St., Norwich, CT 06360 (www.hospice.org).

Jim, Carrie and entire family, may smiles find a way back to you all when remembering all the great memories you had with Barbara.
