Bronislaw Niedojadlo Obituary

New London - Bronislaw S. Niedojadlo, 82, of 91 West Street, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006 at the Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 23, 1924 in Biadoliny, Poland, the son of Leon and Antonina (Ocwieja) Niedojadlo.

Mr. Niedojadlo was teenager when the Nazis invaded Poland. He worked with the Polish Underground for several years and finally escaped to Holland. In the spring of 1953 he joined the U.S. Army and received the Army Occupation Medal (Germany). He was quickly sent to Korea where he was a 50 caliber artilleryman.

Mr. Niedojadlo was employed for 28 years as a welder/instructor at Electric Boat, retiring in 1987.

He enjoyed gardening and watching sporting events.

An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Murphy-Rathbun Post 189 where he was in the color guard for many years. He was also a member of the Polish American Veterans Club.

Survivors include his wife of nearly fifty years, Anna Pruszynski Niedojadlo; three sons, Richard Niedojadlo, Anthony Niedojadlo and his wife, Sandy, and Stefan Niedojadlo. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Evan Niedojadlo, and Hannah and Jacob Niedojadlo.

A son, Robert Niedojadlo, predeceased him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2006 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 63 Old Norwich Road, Quaker Hill. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Jefferson Avenue, New London. There are no calling hours.

Donations in his memory may be made to the American Stroke Association.

I don't think you would remember me but I went to St. Mary's School with you. I am so sorry to hear that you have lost your Dad. I recently lost my Mom.
