Bryan Hall Obituary

Ledyard - Bryan Kevin Hall, 68, of Ledyard, passed away Nov. 13, 2024, at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Bryan was born March 6, 1956, in New London, to Donald Richard Hall and Joan Irene Williams.

Bryan grew up in Montville, and graduated from Montville High School. Bryan was married to his loving wife Penny Hall Feb. 20, 1982. He worked at Electric Boat as a pipefitter for 20 years and worked in public works and later became a supervisor for the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation for ten years. He was very proud of his Mashantucket and Eastern Pequot heritage. He had a love for all types of music and taught himself how to play the drums, harmonica and the Native American flute. He also liked to play videogames. He loved the martial arts and watching Westerns. He loved watching UConn women's basketball and his football team, the Washington Commanders. One of Bryan's most favorite things was Starburst candy.

Bryan's native name is "Warrior" or Punees in the Pequot language. Punees means "to fall on purpose," because they were first in battle and went willingly to protect their family and tribe. This describes Bryan very well, because he would always put his family first and do anything for them and to keep them safe. He was truly his family's Punees.

Bryan is survived by his wife, Penny Hall; his two daughters, Erin and Megan Hall; siblings: Donald Joseph Hall (Ronnie), Valerie Burgess (William), Toni Hall-Hillyer (Chris), Sheila Morgan (Ray) and Lisa Aquino (Hector), his grandson Taven Bears Tail; his two granddaughters, Leeyah Hall and Ivy Hall-Rivera; 13 nieces and nephews; and four great-nieces and nephews. Bryan was predeceased by his father Donald Richard Hall; mother Joan Irene Williams; and his daughter Destiny Hall.

The family will greet relatives and friends at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Mystic. A service will be held after at 12 p.m. at the funeral home and burial will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic.

Sorry to hear about Bryan, it has been a long time since I´ve seen him. I was just in Connecticut and saw Sheila and she told us how he was doing. I tried to call Valerie cause she was on my phone but someone else answered. My love and condolences to my cousins. Dellie

My deepest condolences to you all. I remember Bryan as quiet and kind. Sitting in the corner at a party and taking it all in. It´s fascinating that, even after all these years and distance, the loss of one of `The Heights´ gang stings. Penny: know that my thoughts are with you, your children, and grandchildren. Donald, Valerie, Toni, Sheila, and Lisa: I am so sorry for your loss and wish you well.

Penny and family...it is with much sadness to hear of Bryan's passing. Although it's been many many years since I've seen you guys, you have remained woven in my heart. I have so many memories of you both, we were so young and growing up together left an indelible imprint on me.

I remember Bryan as being wise and noble, quiet and thoughtful. I'll never forget the time I was rudely making fun of someone, and he quietly stated that he doesn't get humor at others' expense. He gently made me see that my behavior was unkind, a lesson I've never forgotten, and am grateful for.

The weekend get togethers, playing cards and Risk and laughing remain some of the best times I've had...so much fun.

I am sorry you had to lose him, I wish for you all the strengh to carry on. May his memory be a blessing.
