Carrie Dussault Obituary

Westport, Mass. - Carrie Laurette Shrallow Dussault, 65, passed away peacefully Feb. 27, 2025, at her home in Westport, Mass., after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Carrie's family honored her wishes for privacy and confidentiality while she bravely confronted her illness with dignity.

She is survived by her husband James Dussault; daughter Keira Dussault; sister Pamela Long and husband Terrence of Vero Beach, Fla.; and brother, Jeffry Shrallow of Waterford.

Born in Hudson, N.Y., Sept. 3, 1959, she moved to New London at an early age and graduated from New London High in 1977. Carrie graduated from Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene and worked in Boston as a Dental Hygienist. She then went on to earn both a bachelor's degree at the University of Colorado and a law degree from the University of Bridgeport. Carrie married her husband James Dussault in 1999 and continued her career as an attorney working at the law firm Dussault & Zatir.

Carrie led a remarkable and accomplished life. Her love of life, her husband and daughter, along with her cats, family and friends are all hallmarks of a successful and full life. Carrie was an avid traveler, a successful lawyer, a talented artist and painter, as well as a beloved sister, mother, wife and friend to so many. Her beauty inside and out will be greatly missed.

The family will be planning a Celebration of Life this summer to allow family and friends to honor their love for Carrie.

Hi Pam and family of Carrie. I am a highschool friend and was very sorry to hear the news of Carrie's passing. I always enjoyed her and sister Pam..I remember the days when they worked at Burger King here in NL. Carrie always wore the newest fashions to school and I loved hearing about the scuba diving exhibitions they went on. I regret we did not keep in touch. She will be remembered by her our youthful memories and her autograph in "my highschool yearbook. "May Her Memory Be Eternal"

I told Jim that Carrie was the kind of friend that I hadn't made since I was a child. I met her when I was in my late 30s and our children attended the same school. Together, we traveled to Santa Fe a bunch of times, Sedona, Nantucket, and our first adventure to Kripalu for a writing workshop. We weren't done. We were supposed to go to Swedish Lapland next. God had other plans for my friend. I will remember her kindness, her cooking (borscht!), her desire to keep her friends close, and her ambition to speak French like a local (again! She spent a year in Bordeaux in college!). She is a treasure in my life, still. God bless her beautiful family who she took such good care of!
