Catherine Shea Obituary

New London - Catherine (Enos) Shea, 86, of 114 Willetts Ave., died Friday, Jan 5, 2007, at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

Born March 20, 1920, she was the daughter of Ruth Sisson Enos and the late Joseph G. Enos.

She was predeceased by her husband, Timothy E. Shea on Feb. 25, 1989.

Mrs. Shea worked for the federal government; U.S. Army, Fort H.G. Wright, Fishers Island, N.Y., and for the U.S. Navy, U.S. Naval Submarine Base, Groton, for a total of 34 years.

She was a member of the AARP, NARFE, VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 189, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 0009, New London, and the International Graphoanalysis Society of Chicago, Ill.

Catherine is survived by three nephews, Neil and Loretta Gaffney and family of Glenelg, Md, Walter and Bonnie Holmes and family of Norwich, and George Holmes and family of Waterford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, New London. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, New London. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London.
