Charlie Marques Obituary

Mystic - Charlie "Stainless" Marques, age 66, passed away Dec. 11, 2024, at his home in Mystic, after a long and heroic battle against cancer.

Charlie was the founder and owner of Mystic Stainless & Aluminum, Inc. He was a proud resident of Mystic, and a courageous and well-loved fisherman.

He is predeceased by his parents, Dennis and Luisa Dorn. He is survived by his wife Maria; and two daughters, Aryanna and Alba; as well as his sisters, Debra Dorn and Justine Cazobon, all of whom are very proud of how Charlie fought his illness so valiantly, with such unfaltering strength, positive outlook and never losing hope, often more worried about his family than himself. Charlie is a champion in all our hearts.

A private service will be held by the family and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

I was shocked to hear of Charlie's passing. While I'd only met him a few times, he and I seemed to click. Or maybe it was just his warm nature with everyone. He was a true craftsman and he left an impression on me since, even inspired me. My deepest condolences to his family. Godspeed Charlie.

I just learned of Charlie passing. I am very sorry for your loss. I have known Charlie for many years work related and always valued the discussions we have about business and politics....he was very good at both. I have always said and will continue to tell anyone the Charlie was by far the best welding I knew in the business for 40 years.
