Christine Wade Obituary
Born in 1947 in Southbridge, Mass., Christine received her undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She then earned a master of science degree in deaf education from Washington University and began her career as a teacher of deaf children at the Central Institute for the Deaf (CID) in St. Louis, Mo. Christine put her budding career aside to care for her family, moving to Connecticut in 1983. She continued teaching at the American School for the Deaf, working with children in their homes through the Birth to Three Program. In addition, she served students in many local school systems throughout eastern Connecticut as a certified auditory verbal therapist.
Christine inspired her family and friends through her lifelong devotion to the Catholic faith. As a parishioner at St. Thomas More Church in North Stonington for over 30 years, she served in many roles, including Ecumenical Vacation Bible School coordinator, Mass Lector and Eucharistic Minister. Her faith commitment also extended throughout the wider Catholic community, leading her to co-coordinate the ACTS (Adoration, Community, Theology and Service) Women's Retreat at the St. Edmund Retreat Center at Enders Island, as well as to participate in weekly Eucharistic Adoration at the Franciscan Friary in Griswold.
In addition to her devotion to family, faith and deaf children, Christine enjoyed interior design, cooking and gardening, and was a member of the North Stonington Garden Club.
She leaves many nieces and nephews among her extended family.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Daniel and Sabina Bousquet and brother, Daniel.
Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in North Stonington with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. A reception will immediately follow at St. Edmund's Retreat Center on Enders Island, Mystic. Interment will be at 12 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, at St. Hedwig's Cemetery in Southbridge, Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Birth to Three Scholarship Fund at the American School for the Deaf, 139 North Main St., West Hartford, CT 06107, Attn: Birth to Three Program; www.asd-1817.org, will be gratefully accepted.

Chris was part of a group of six girls at Southbridge High School. Of the six of us, Jeanne, Judy, Karen, Maureen, and myself, she was the best of us. Her goodness was so obvious and her happiness, loyalty, honesty and pure sunshine was always so wonderful. She was elected an officer of our Class of 1965. She was our friend. We were devastated to learn of Christine's untimely passing. She was a gracious host and we remember many times of dinners with she and Bob either at their home or in the area. The world is a bit sadder, but, according to our faith, Heaven is richer.

I just heard today of Christine's passing. She came to my home to service my child and we had wonderful conversations about Italy. I was so happy for her to be able to visit the places she so dearly loved. I will miss her visits, her smile and her gentleness. You are all in my prayers.

We are all in such shock. After such a long time,special customers become like family, that was Christine. I am so very sorry for all of you and all of us who enjoyed seeing her big smile and perfect hair coming thru the door.

Everytime i look at your name in my phone, i have tesrs coming down from my eyes. We miss you soo much. I mis your texts asking me how me and the kids are. I miss our b23 meetings and i miss your smile. Wesley asked where you were and i had to tell him, hes reslly upset, he said he wants his friend back.
