Thank you Canon Jones for showing Christian compassion and love to so many people who were often disowned by their church and family. Christ Church Cathedral will always be in my heart because of the love and friendship shown by Canon Jones in his quiet and humble way. He was a real gentleman and will be greatly missed.

Our beloved cousin, Clinton, baptized our daughter in June'05. Micayla and her cousins are the third generation of baptisms in the family that the Cannon performed. He will surely be missed, but fondly remembered - Keith and Jennifer (Michael) Chicoine

Canon Jones, my heart broke when you turned to me on Christmas Eve after recessing down the aisle, and you broke into tears saying that this was the last Christmas you would probably celebrate (it was).

To Kenny and Carol, we all loved that dear man. You take care and and hug his cat for me.

Like many people over the years, I can say that Canon Jones surely saved my life. I first met him 40 years ago when I was a frightened young man who believed that the Episcopal Church had no place for me. He introduced me to the joy of working with young people in the church and in the process restored my faith. He taught me how to enjoy the gift of giving. He was truly a unique person and a true Christian by example. My condolences to Kenny.

Canon Jones was the epitome of a priest - a delightful, caring, nonjudgemental individual that quietly inspired all to do their best. He was a joy to be with whether at a family gathering or on a wild bus trip down the mountainside at the Giant's Causeway in Ireland. May God hold him in the palm of His hand until we meet again.

I feel like I have lost a father after 60 years with Canon since he came to the Cathedral. He was one of the most influential persons in my life. I have such fond memories of our lives together from serving at the altar, church camp life, teaching church school & as costodian & sexton at the Cathedral,my days living with Canon, &our many vacations together, especially 2 months touring Europe as a young adult. I am so glad that I called on you soon after retiring from the Cathedral to come to All Saints' Church first as Interim & than as Assistant Missioner for 15 years in the Greater Hartford Regional Ministry.

Canon was a loving priest that I met at Christ Church Cathedral in 1959 and he introduced me to my future husband. I enjoyed our many dinner engangements with him, Kenny and Carol. I shall always remember him in my heart.

I will NEVER forget Canon Jones or Dear Kenny. My uncle, Harold Carey, was a friend of Canon for over thirty years. When Harold died, in 1992, I was beside myself. I was 31 and didn't have any immediate family, all I had left was Harold. I called Canon Jones and told him the news and within 30 mins. he was here at the house and immediately made all the arrangments AND performed the service at the church and at the graveside. Kenny played the organ like I've never heard it before! A truly selfless, humorous, gentle, sweet Man of God. Bless You, my dear one. Give hugs and kisses to Harold from me! My deepest condolences to Kenny and Elizabeth & Family.

My Dear Canon Jones - What a truly wonderful man you were. I had the privilege of knowing you from the tender age of 4 when you came to Christ Church Cathedral. I grew up thinking you were part of my family. You were present at my confirmation and also my church school teacher during my high school years. You married my husband and I and presided at both my parents funerals. You were always there for me. I can't begin to express how very much I am going to miss you. You impacted my life in such a positive way. May you rest in eternal peace with the Lord.

It is difficult to say goodbye and mourn the passing of Cannon Clinton Jones. Since helping to found the Gender Identity Clinic of New England over 30 years ago, Canon Jones has been both a friend and colleague to Board Members. We loved him for his calmness, his guidance, his gentle demeanor, and especially for his dedication to the needs of the gender dysphoric. He was always there to ease the suffering of those seeking help at the Clinic and to provide hope for a happier future. Canon Jones was unique and irreplaceable. He will remain an inspiration to all of us. Members of the Clinic Board mourn the passing of our esteemed colleague.

Canon Jones impacted my life - as he did the lives of countless others - in multitidinous ways, over the 34 years in which I knew him. Indeed, my friendship with him was one of the great blessings of my life in the United States, and I would have been much the poorer without him. It is no hyperbole to say that this utterly selfless human being has gone on to an Eternal Reward of which he is fully deserving, a fact which comforts me to some degree. I feel further comforted in the knowledge that Canon Jones will continue to look down on us from that blessed vantage point till the time comes when we are all reunited.

God bless you and love you and keep you always, Canon Jones.
