Cynthia Baker Obituary

Bremerton, Wash. - Cynthia Irene Baker, passed away peacefully Jan. 5, 2022, at the age of 85.

Cynthia was born June 28, 1936, in New London, the daughter of the late Victor Henry and Grace Marguerite (Goula) Zuliani Sr.

Cynthia was a very creative person. Her passions for cake decorating lead her to baking many birthday and wedding cakes for her family and friends. Her love of cake decorating even landed her a long rewarding career at Safeway Supermarket in Bremerton as a lead decorator.

She also had a passion for animals. As a dog and cat lover Cindy loved having animals around. She bred miniature poodles for several years actually winning a champion ribbon for her purebred.

After retirement she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved the holidays and spending time with her family. Cynthia was very active in her community, supporting Bremerton High School Theater productions, the Bremerton Arts and Community theatres, volunteering countless hours designing and making stage costumes as well as stage props for these events. She also volunteered at Kitsap Mental Health and was voted "Volunteer of the Year" in 2000.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her husband Frederick Allen Baker Jr.; brother Dante J. Zuliani II; and grandson Frederick Andrew Baker. She is survived by her three children, Charlotte Baker of Bremerton, Wash., Cynthia Allman (Ronald) of Silverdale, Wash., and Frederick Allen Baker III (Rena) of Bremerton, Wash.; two grandchildren, Anthony Baker (Kajal) of Los Angeles, Calif., and Kendal Allman-Bailey (Jeremy) of Gig Harbor, Wash.; as well as four great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind two brothers, Robert Zuliani of Groton and Victor Zuliani Jr. of Austin, Texas; along with several nephews and a niece, all of whom are feeling her loss very much.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. June 25, 2022. For information, please contact Cynthia Allman at email: ([email protected]).

A favorite memory - We will never forget our visit with Cindy on the way to taking my father to Vancouver Island. We were exhausted after the trip from NYC compounded by the frustration that the airline sent my dad's luggage to California instead of Seattle. We had a great visit and said our goodbyes to head off for our 90-minute drive to the ferry. After about 30 minutes, I became concerned about a large white car approaching us VERY fast from behind. When the car got close it continued to sit on our tail. Fearing the potential for an accident, I kept watching in my rear-view mirror wondering when this person would pass on this winding two-lane road only to realize who was driving that white Lincoln - CINDY!!
In my concern of travelling with my elderly dad without luggage and trying to make the ferry connection I had left my purse in the house!! The trip would have been ruined without my ID's.
To this day I remain totally impressed with Cindy's driving ability, and especially her speed, in catching up with us as we were easily 20 miles away from the house!

Cindy & Fred I am so very sorry to hear about Aunt Cindy´s passing. I have such wonderful memories of her visits to the East Coast and when she and Carol got together, it was non-stop laughter. My thoughts are with all of you during this difficult time.
