Darius Bishop Obituary
Darius was born Jan. 20, 1984, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Kenneth L. Bishop Jr. and Angela S. Bishop. He was the oldest of two brothers, Jordan Vaughn Bishop, and Adriel Sarad Bishop. Darius was a graduate of Ledyard High School, and had a zest for life. He enjoyed playing basketball, working out in the gym, music, dancing, movies, video games, and getting together with his friends.
Darius was a spiritual person. He was raised as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He spent most of his life learning about Jehovah God's purpose for mankind and the earth, and dedicated his life to teaching others about God's will. For the last couple of years, Darius had not been one of Jehovah's Witnesses. However, because of his love for Jehovah God and his family, he had begun to attend meetings again at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
He is survived by his parents; two brothers; one great-grandparent; three grandparents; a host of uncles, aunts, great-uncles and great-aunts, and cousins; and countless friends.
Darius will be dearly missed by those who knew him. We await the time when we would see him again in the resurrection here on earth in a beautiful paradise environment when Jehovah God will wipe out every tear from our eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain will be anymore, as promised in the Bible at Revelation 21:4.

Darius, you were my first nephew and I was so proud when you were born because I was an uncle for the very first time. I remember when I took you up to Boston to see Janet Jackson and One Twelve. That would be a day that I would never forget. And all those times when we played ball and I used to beat you until you got taller and started giving me a run for my money. But even though we had some good times together, there were times when we had our differences. I tended to lose my patience with you and at one point I said something that I wish that I was able to take back. But throughout our differences you never stopped being family. I love you Darius and I will always love you. I hope that I will be there to welcome you back in the new system and if I do, I hope that you could forgive me. I still can't believe that you're gone. I never thought that this could happen to anyone in our family, especially you.
You were always the quite one that was liked by so many. You may be gone but you will always be in my heart. I miss you. I WILL see you again. Love ALWAYS, your uncle, Andre.

I will miss my dear cousin Darius and as most know he was a very nice and kind person. He will be dearly missed, but i know that i will get to see him again in Jehovah's new world we just have to make it there to see him.

My condolences to the family of Darius. The pain we feel from losing our loved ones is a pain that time may not heal. Thankfully we have the hope Jehovah provides to comfort us. To my dear brother, Ken, and my loving sister-in-law, Angela, and my wonderful nephews, Jordan and Adriel. I am so sorry for the loss of our beloved Darius. Darius was the kindest, most caring, loving, gentlest person I knew. And, his heart was as big as his dimples. This is "STILL" so hard to believe. My heart is broken! Darius was a kind-hearted young man who loved life more than anything. Only Jehovah is the reader of hearts, and I am confident that Jehovah knew Darius' heart. I pray that our entire family could find comfort in the words of Isaiah 41:10, where we are told, "Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not gaze about, for I am your God. I will fortify you. I will really help you. I will really keep fast hold of you with my right hand of righteousness". I am very sorry for your loss. Its never easy to go through something tragic like this. I know you will sorely miss Darius. When I heard of the death of Darius Bishop, I could not believe it was 'my' Darius from Juliet Long School. When I saw the picture of him in his obituary, my heart sank. There could never be another smile like his. I am so very sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Bishop. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Bishop Family,
I am very sorry for the loss of such a beautiful son and brother. I knew Darious years ago and always remembered that he was the sweetest person I knew. He did not have a mean bone in his body. I remembered he would always call to check up on me to make sure I was doing my homework and staying busy pioneering. I remembered he loved to dance to "Step In the Name of Love" and he always laughed at his own jokes. I was shocked to hear that he was gone but I look forward to seeing him in the paradise. When we get there, I know Ill be able to recognize him by those beautiful dimples he had. May these kind words about Darius keep you going because everyone here has nothing but good things to say. I did not know Darius, but I know the pain, the grief, the feelings of helplessness, and sorrow that death brings. Your pain will ease up. Take time to grieve at your own pace. Darius was one of my closest friends all through high school. As a fellow believer it was very easy to talk to him about our faith and struggles. He was always there to listen.
