David Clang

4/16/1938 - 2/25/2025

Norwich - David "Dave" Clang, 86, of Norwich, passed away peacefully Feb. 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born April 16, 1938, in Yantic, David lived a life of service, dedication, and warmth. He proudly served in the United States Army before returning home to devote his time to his career and community.

A longtime member of the Yantic Fire Department, he carried a deep sense of duty to those around him. His professional career led him to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London, where he served as the Director of Information Services until his retirement.

Beyond his work, Dave was passionate about golf and community engagement. He founded the Daniel A. Boucher Memorial Tournament at the Norwich Golf Course, a tribute to friendship and camaraderie that reflected his generous spirit. In retirement, he found joy in Hilton Head Island, S.C., where he spent many wonderful years before returning to Norwich two years ago.

Dave's greatest love was his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Beverly Clang; his sons, Brian (wife Nancy) and Kevin Clang (wife Dorota); his cherished grandchildren: Nicole, Victoria, Elizabeth, David and Sophia; and his brother, Raymond Clang. His legacy of kindness, humor, and unwavering support will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

The family especially wants to thank Sheila, Kevin and the rest of the Hartford Healthcare Hospice staff for providing kind and compassionate care to Dave and Bev during Dave's final months.

A service to honor Dave's life will be announced at a later date. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
