David LaFlamme Obituary

New London - David M. LaFlamme of New London, passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011.

Dave was born on Dec. 18, 1948 in Manchester, and was a resident of New London and Waterford for most of his life. Dave worked for Davy Tree Service for many years and was a licensed tree surgeon. He also worked at Thames Valley Steel as an expert welder and served in the U.S. Coast Guard. In his early years, Dave enjoyed water skiing and antiques and was quite a connoisseur!

David is survived by his brothers, Peter LaFlamme and wife, Robbie, of Richardson, Texas, and Martin LaFlamme of Old Town, Maine; also his nieces, Felissa LaFlamme of Dallas, Texas, Rochelle Cole of Richardson, Texas and Nicole LaFlamme of High Point, N.C. He is also survived by his caretaker Saint Gladys Merritt, as Dave would refer to her. He leaves behind many close friends and relatives and will sadly be missed by all.

David was predeceased by his parents.

Dave requested to be buried at sea and those wishes will be honored. Funeral arrangements will be private.

To David's family, We are so sorry to hear of David's passing - the Strickland family, formerly of Uncasville, send their condolonces. Our home was where the Davey Tree crew began their days for many years with a "Cup of coffee" and we have many fond memories of David. Our thoughts and prayers are with you @ this time.

To Dave's family i am very sorry to hear of Dave's passing. He was always williing to help others. I enjoyed his quirky sense of humor, he enjoyed my nieces and would always talk about his family and nieces. He will be missed. So sorry for your loss.
