David was born in Groton, on June 14, 1957. He was raised in New London and Springfield, Mass.
He leaves behind his mother, Lorraine Miller, of Springfield, Mass., and his stepfather, Hosea Hurst, of New London. He is also survived by his fiancée, Diane Yantin, of Willimantic; his son, Jamal Paire, of New London; two stepsons, David and George Yantin, of Willimantic; four sisters, Rosemary Harris, of Virginia, Cheryl Irvin, of West Springfield, Mass., Linda Hurst, of Maine, and Diana Nelson, of New York; four brothers, Steven Paire, of New York, Glenn Hurst, of Springfield, Mass., Darryl Hurst, of Georgia, and Vincent Hurst, of New York; three step grandchildren, Sasha and David Yantin Jr., of Willimantic, and Ciarra Yantin, of East Hartford; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Hosea Hurst.
His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church, 412 Valley St., Willimantic, with burial to follow in the New Willimantic Cemetery.
