Dawn Ann Bond

East Lyme - Dawn Ann (Kackowski) Bond, age 64, passed away Oct. 11, 2025, at her home in Wheeling, W.Va. She was born to the late Theodore and Joyce Kackowski in Connecticut, where she lived most of her life.

She is survived by her beloved son Jacob Bond, whom she shared with Mark Bond; along with Jacob's wife Delainey and their infant child Cayden. She relished her role as "big sister" to six siblings. Left to treasure her memory is sister Joyce Kackowski; and brothers, Theodore (Melinda) Kackowski, Matthew (Angela) Kackowski, Douglas (Cindy) Kackowski, Thomas (Julianne) Kreidel and William (Jamie) Ricci; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Artistic in nature, she was an avid creator of many forms of arts and crafts, always working on or sharing the fruits of latest projects.

Her love of family was evident through her keen interest in the family's genealogy and her meticulous record-keeping and care of family photos.

Dawn was a graduate of Seton Hill University. Her passion for making home the center of family life led to her sharing her love of home economics as a school teacher. She was also heavily involved with her faith through volunteering and leading Sunday School at local churches.

Services for Dawn will take place at at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Flanders Baptist and Community Church, East Lyme. She will be laid to rest immediately after at East Lyme Cemetery alongside her mother Joyce and stepfather, Russ Ricci. The family will welcome mourners at a reception at the church following Interment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
